Senior Ya'ir Sasson receives the Applebaum Award

Last Thursday evening, Albany High senior Ya’ir Sasson received the Applebaum Award at the 25th Annual Pillars of the Community Awards presented by The Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center!

This prestigious community award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center and/or the Jewish Community at-large through education, services and acts of kindness. 

During his time at Albany High, Sasson has excelled academically and has become a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He plans to attend Boston University in the fall to study electrical engineering.

Sasson is a skilled swimmer and serves the community as a lifeguard at the JCC.

We commend him for receiving this honor and wish him the best in his future endeavors!
