Navigating new horizons

Albany High student connecting with a staff member from Hudson Valley Community College

As graduation approaches, Albany High counselors are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for students stepping into the next phase of life and education.

On Wednesday, June 11, the school hosted its annual Transition Services for Seniors event. This gathering invited students and families to receive assistance with college applications, admissions and enrollment processes, financial aid, employment opportunities, post-secondary training programs and CDTA travel training.

This event proved to be invaluable for seniors, whether they are still determining their next steps after graduation or have a plan in place but require guidance and support to navigate the process.

While the last day of classes at Albany High is Monday, June 16, our counselors will continue to be available until Friday, July 11 to connect with students and families. Throughout the summer, the guidance secretary will be on hand to assist students with essential paperwork, including transcripts and health records. Counselors will return to the office on Monday, August 18.

Albany High extends its best wishes to all graduating seniors as they embark on their next adventures!
